In the heart of Brooklyn, our founder Stephanie noticed a problem while helping a local yoga studio: their online booking software was both clunky and costly.
One day, during a drive around Brooklyn with her co-founder, Stephanie had an idea and casually said, "Why don't we build a tool ourselves?”
And that's how Ruoom came to life.
Now, with a global team of 25+ professionals and headquarters in both Austin, TX and Seoul, Ruoom has transformed Stephanie's vision into a thriving reality. We've extended our reach, now providing services to businesses in the United States and South Korea, all while staying true to our mission of simplifying business operations.

A Note From Stephanie
When my Mom was a kid, she started a comic book library business on her front porch. She couldn't have been older than the 4th grade at the time. I bring this up to say that I'm pretty sure the entrepreneurial spirit is ingrained in my DNA. But for a long time, I never thought about going down that path.
I'm a second-generation Asian American, and I grew up with the expectations of many Asian families (if you know, you know). I got an Electrical Engineering degree, landed a job at the company my Dad dreamed I would work for since I was 10, got a Master's in Engineering, climbed the corporate ladder, and then one day, had a realization that there has to be more to life than chasing titles and marking off accomplishment checkboxes that told the world nothing about my character.
I started my first business in 2017. A small boutique consultancy, which I still run to this day. Then, in late 2018, I made a sketch in Microsoft Paint (yes, you read that correctly), which would become the very rough first ideation of what the Ruoom platform is today.
In 2019, I co-founded Ruoom in my tiny 500-square-foot apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Since then, we’ve filed for a patent, relocated our headquarters to Austin, Texas, grown our team from 2 to over 20, expanded our global presence with an international office in Seoul, South Korea, and transformed that initial Microsoft Paint sketch into a software product that supports customers in two countries.
Major accomplishments? Yes. But honestly, we're just getting started. We're on a path to achieve so much more, and we hold the same belief for every customer we have the privilege to work with.
